Last week, Akinyemi bodied his Treble Tuesday performance at our HQ. Today, we are proud to premiere the video for his newest joint, "Graduation."
The visuals are simple and certainly place an emphasis on substance over style. Akinyemi strolls through the streets of New York donning a cap and gown and spitting while staring directly into the camera. Without the glitzy overproduction, viewers are forced to focus on the content of Akinyemi's words; his insights on this coming-of-age time coupled with the technical prowess on display makes for an enjoyable track for any true fan of hip hop.
"I'm a full time student at Queens College, and this song specifically touches on me contemplating the thoughts that come after crossing that stage," he says.
Check out the visuals here and make sure to say what's up to Akinyemi at any Treble event.
Fun Fact: When he isn't tearing up the mic, Akinyemi is also honing his coding skills. So if you're reading this Akinyemi, swing by our HQ sometime soon and help build the Android version of Treble!
